Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Oz Profit collects when you use https://www.ozprofit.com, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

Oz Profit is an Australian matched betting education website run by David. You can contact us about anything in this policy at david@ozprofit.com.

What we collect

You can read every page and use every calculator on this site without creating an account or telling us who you are. There are no comment sections, sign-up forms or logins.

We collect information in three ways:

  • Analytics data. When you visit, Google Analytics records how you use the site: the pages you view, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine), your approximate location (city or region), your device and browser type, and which links and calculators you interact with. This is linked to a random identifier stored in a cookie, not to your name or email address.
  • Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and to protect the site from attacks and abuse.
  • Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The stakes and odds you enter are not sent to us or stored anywhere.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_<id>) that distinguish one visitor from another so we can count visits and see which pages are useful. These cookies last up to two years.

We use this information to understand which guides people read, which tools they use and where the site needs improving. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not sell it.

Google processes this data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. You can read how Google uses it in Google’s privacy policy and how it works with sites like ours in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your data by:

Some links on this site go to matched betting services (bonusbank, Bonus Money and Betfair Australia). These links pass through a short redirect at ozprofit.com/go/ and include a referral code, so the service knows you came from Oz Profit. If you sign up or subscribe, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

We record that a link was clicked (through Google Analytics, as described above), but we do not pass your name, email address or any other personal information to these services. Once you arrive on their site, their own privacy policy and cookies apply.

Our guides link to other websites, including bookmakers, news sites and YouTube. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for how they handle your information. Check their privacy policies before giving them any personal details.

How long we keep information

  • Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (no longer than 14 months for user-level data).
  • Cloudflare keeps server logs for a limited period under its own policies.
  • Emails are kept for as long as we need them to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation. You can ask us to delete them.

Your rights

You can ask us:

  • what personal information we hold about you,
  • to correct it, or
  • to delete it.

Email david@ozprofit.com and we will respond within 30 days. Because analytics data is not linked to your name, we may need the identifier from your _ga cookie to find it.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the way we collect or use information changes, and change the “Last updated” date above.
